Circle Ministry / PADS

CIRCLE MINISTRY is a group of adults focused on service and fellowship, such as cooking and serving dinner at a local PADS (Public Action to Deliver Shelter) site six times per year. Youth and others from the congregation often join in on these projects.

With the support of over 130 congregations and organizations, 4000 volunteers, 288 PADS Partners and numerous community advocates and other service organizations, PADS was able to offer hope for more than 900 men, women, and children in our communities through programs and services that embrace multiple solutions to end homelessness.

This year 119 families asked for assistance through DuPage PADS, a 49% increase over last year. 152 children were without the safety of a home in our county, a 43% increase over last year. 75 of these children are under the age of 5. They have 51 units of Permanent Supportive Housing throughout the county. 80% of those in Permanent Supportive Housing have retained their housing for over 2 years. 12 families secured housing with home-based case management through a partnership with the DuPage Housing Authority.

DuPage PADS has the solution to end homelessness: provide housing options combined with life skills and employment services. By offering the necessary life skills and employment services, they can help to prevent our participants from recycling back to the streets. They empower them to rebound and rebuild their lives while holding them accountable for their own progress. And they do this with the compassion and respect each individual deserves. DuPage PADS works in partnership with faith-based and community groups plus thousands of dedicated volunteers with one goal in mind: to end homelessness throughout the county.
